"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun..."
-John Keats (1795-1821)
"CCLV Ode to Autumn"
The Faerie of Autumn, softly feathered wings outstretched, gathers the abundance of the season. She mirrors the rich hues
and earthy tones of Autumn.

"Listen! the wind is rising,
and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves!"

This faerie comes with her own display stand which forms a autumnal tableau in hues of gold, orange, burgundy, brown and
purple. She stands on the base which is covered with buff-colored moss and littered with fallen leaves. The stand is also
covered in moss and twined with climbing ivy and sprays of fall-hued maple and oak leaves. Amongst the leaves peek late-season
flowers, berries and acorns. The faerie attaches to this stand with a clasp of copper wire, which goes around her waist and
is completely hidden underneath her belt of leaves. Her pose and placement can be adjusted, and she can be removed and displayed
separately if wished.
This lovely fairy's outfit, of my own design, comes in three separate and removable parts: bodice, skirt, and belt.
The bodice and skirt are both in a shimmery gold tulle. The bodice is halter-styled and snaps at the waist in back;the snap
is hidden by a beautiful, enameled maple-leaf button, while the halter straps are gathered with gold ribbon. The bodice is
further embellished with an olive-green velvet maple-leaf. The full, frothy skirt is made of eight layers of lustrous, gold
tulle and comes to mid-calf length. It is gathered at the waist with a tiny, cinched waistband of gold cloth, snapping at
the back. The layers of the skirt have been given a unique treatment: The top four layers are cut into staggered, long,
triangular pennants, each doubled tip trimmed with green and gold beads, while the bottom four layers fall straight across
at the hemthese layers can be fluffed up for extra fullness. Around her waist is a wide belt of velvet maple leaves in glowing
colors of red, green and orange; it snaps in the back.
