May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!

This is a specially commissioned design for a Victorian Ice Skater in green--the color and time of year recommend a St. Patrick's day theme. Since there is still some snow on the ground and ice on the ponds in New England, I suppose she could still get some skating in!

This lovely doll has bright copper hair, pulled back into a pony-tail of fluffy sausage curls and tied with a cream-colored ribbon. She has huge green eyes and her perky smile has been re-painted with a deep burgundy and sealed.

The skating dress is of a thick, satiny, deep forest green material that beautifully shows off the cream accents. The bodice is fitted, sleeves full and puffed, and the very full skirt is wired to allow it to be shaped into waves suggesting movement. The hem of the skirt and the high neck-line are trimmed with a rich, cream braid, and cream ribbon-rose accents on the hem. Cream grosgrain ribbon and lace trim the sleeves and a wide grosgrain ribbon cinch the waist and form a large bow in the back. A beautiful cream lace cameo piece adorns the bodice; ivory pearl buttons march up the back.

Accesories include a chestnut fur muff and a jaunty pill-box hat in green trimmed with cream ribbons and roses; the hat is attached with a pearly green hat-pin.
